PROGRAMMES we support
Today, the Foundation remains guided by the enduring philosophy and values established by our founding patriach Mr. Siu, a century ago, placing a continued emphasis on philanthropy that seeks to add richness to communities and organisations across sectors that have historically shaped - and been shaped by - the successive generations of the family.
We are committed primarily to the advancement of scholarship, research and preservation within the field of East Asian Architecture and the Built Environment.
As the Foundation continues to advance its objectives, its areas of focus includes three pillars:
Pillar One - Access to research and education in the field of Architecture and the Built Environment through endowment of visiting professorships and fellowships for outstanding researchers at world-class institutions and organisations.
Pillar Two - Partnering with world-class professional bodies, research centres and cultural institutions with a nexus to the fields of East Asian Architecture and the Built Environment on programmes that enhance public engagement and heritage preservation (public lecture series and exhibitions, digital archives, library collections, research publications, conservation and restoration projects).
Pillar Three - beyond Architecture and the Built Environment, supporting institutions and organisations that have contributed to the development of family clan members, with the objective of enhancing access for the community and enhancing user experiences (bursaries, scholarships, improvement of facilities).
We do not support initiatives that are commercial in nature or politically related.
“Through these highly focussed pillars, the Foundation endeavours to perpetuate the family’s legacy in Architecture and the Built Environment in East Asia, while also fostering a tradition of service to our community.”
Ms. Peggy Siu
