PROGRAMMES we support
Today, the Foundation remains guided by the enduring philosophy and values established by Mr. Siu Un (蕭啟垣, alias 蕭垣 ) a century ago, placing a continued emphasis on philanthropy that seeks to transform the lives of individuals, communities and organisations across sectors that have historically shaped - and been shaped by - the successive generations of the family clan.
We are committed primarily to the advancement of education, scholarship and access within the fields of Architecture and the Built Environment.
As the Foundation continues to advance its objectives, its areas of focus include:
(A) Advancing education in Architecture and the Built Environment through (i) endowment of prizes and scholarships for outstanding students at leading institutions; and (ii) advancing the delivery of education (supporting visiting academics, lecture series).
(B) Partnering with professional bodies and cultural institutions in the fields of Architecture and the Built Environment on programmes that enhance public engagement, and cultural and identity preservation (lecture series, exhibitions, digital archives, library collections).
(C) Supporting institutions that have contributed to the development of family clan members, with the objective of enhancing transformative access for the broader community and enhancing the student experience (endowing bursaries and scholarships; improvement of educational facilities etc.).
We do not support initiatives that are commercial in nature or politically related.
“Through these highly focussed efforts, the Foundation endeavours to perpetuate the family clan’s legacy in Architecture and the Built Environment in East Asia, while fostering a tradition of service to our community.”
Ms. Peggy Siu
